M. Hytham Rifai, M.D.
Diplomate - American Board of Neurological Surgery. Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Illinois. Specializing in minimally invasive Microscopic Spine Surgery and Cerebral Vascular and Neurosurgical Disease. Dr. M. Hytham Rifai started Neurological and Spinal Surgery, P. C. in 1987. Dr. Rifai's Neurosurgery Residency was at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, where his is currently assistant professor of Neurosurgery. Dr. Rifai also maintains his advanced knowledge of Neurosurgery with his academic affiliation at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He continues to research new technology and treatments for patients suffering from neurological and spinal problems as well as forge strong working relationship with his colleagues. Caleb R. Lippman, M.D.
Dr. Lippman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania College of Arts and Sciences in 1991, where he was elected to Phi Betta Kappa his junior year, and was a Deans Scholar his senior year; he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He remained at Penn for medical school, and graduated in 1996. He received his neurosurgical training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, and went on to complete a research fellowship in complex spinal neurosurgery at the University of South Florida with Dr David W. Cahill, and an operative fellowship in complex spinal neurosurgery and reconstructive spinal neurosurgery at Northwestern University with Dr. Stephan L. Ondra.
Dr. Lippman has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals, several chapters in current neurosurgical texts, and given talks at national and international spine and neurosurgical meetings.
His special interests include complex spinal disorders and fusions, including degenerative spine disease, adult scoliosis, spinal tumors, and failed previous surgery. His interests also include minimally invasive spinal surgery (including vertebroplasty), brain tumors (including pituitary tumors), Chiari malformations, hydrocephalus, and chronic pain management. |

Geoffrey R. Dixon, M.D.
Dr. Dixon completed his graduate studies at Wakeforest University School of Medicine in Winston Salem, North Carolina, graduating with his medical degree in May of 1996. He then went on to complete his Neurosurgical Internship and Residency training at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. While at Mayo, Dr. Dixon performed research in the field of MR Elastography and Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus. He was working to develop a new technique of MRI to evaluate brain tissue compliance with clinical applications for N. P. Hydrocephalus, Parkinsons Disease, Alzheimers Disease and Neoplastic Diseases of the brain.
Dr. Dixon's training also included Gamma Knife Stereotactic Radio surgery. Mayo Clinic is considered one of the premier and busiest medical centers in Gamma Knife procedures which provides an excellent educational environment.
Dr. Dixon has clinical interest in general Neurosurgery, Complex Spinal Disorders, Neuro-Oncology and surgery related to Epilepsy. Dr. Dixon is available for all types of neurosurgical consultations.

Dr. Yount
Dr. Yount graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine and Graduate School with a combined M.D./PhD. in 1979. His graduate thesis was in the field of Biophysics, specializing in cell membrane electrophysiology and microelectrode techniques. He completed his internship and neurosurgical training at Indiana University in 1985, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery. He has extensive experience with stereotactic image guided surgery. His area of specialty is Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinsons disease and Essential Tremor utilizing stereotactic 3D targeting and intraoperative microelectrode recording. |

Dr. Kevin G. Waldron
Dr. Kevin G. Waldron completed post-graduate medical training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, earning an M.D. degree in 1999. He completed six years of training in Neurological Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, Illinois.
While in residency training, Dr. Waldron completed research pertaining to the mechanism of brain tumor invasion and tumor blood supply. He has presented his data as well a research pertaining to the growth of spinal tumors at national cancer meetings.
Dr. Waldron has substantial experience with Gamma Knife and Cyberknife surgery. His clinical interests include vascular brain surgery, skull base tumor surgery, epilepsy surgery, surgery for movement disorders, spinal surgery, and complex spine/minimally invasive instrumentation.
Dr. Waldron is available for all types of neurological consultations. |
